Industrial Projects
Construction Safety Oversight
A steel mill's furnace upgrade, vital for boosting production, necessitated rigorous safety measures due to its scale and operational hazards. RETTEW navigated these challenges seamlessly, managing 200+ workers, coordinating crane lifts in tight spaces, and ensuring worker safety amidst moving hot steel. RETTEW's expertise resulted in over 170,000 accident-free man-hours, showcasing our effective safety oversight in a demanding environment.
Food Manufacturing Facility Upgrade Design
RETTEW designed the first phase of a multi-phase food manufacturing plant expansion leveraging a previously created 3D model. This phase includes a new hygiene building, relocated engineering and shipping facilities, and an improved driver waiting area. Focusing on employee well-being, food safety, and quality, RETTEW secured land development approvals, prepared detailed design documents, and assisted with bidding and construction management for this project.
CRODA Wastewater Treatment Plant Operational Support
Facing challenges with wastewater treatment due to increasing volume and inefficient processes, CRODA International partnered with RETTEW for a solution. By optimizing the existing plant layout and implementing a new SCADA system with advanced analyzers, RETTEW improved treatment performance without additional steps. The online analyzer specifically tackles varying wastewater strengths by diverting high-strength batches, ultimately reducing discharged pollutants and saving CRODA millions in capital expenditure. This allowed CRODA to focus on their core business while ensuring responsible wastewater management.
Stony Battery Road Distribution Corridor
Catalyst Commercial Development proposed a three-facility distribution complex in East and West Hempfield Townships to serve South Central Pennsylvania. Despite permitting challenges and the need to coordinate with two municipalities, RETTEW's land development expertise and knowledge of the Townships helped secure approval for the 755,300-SF project, bringing industrial growth, jobs, and distribution benefits to Lancaster County.
